Kellerstrass Oil Doubles Their Close Ratio with Dynamics CRM
There are two things we love talking about: CRM and the success that our customers are achieving with it.
About four years ago, Kellerstrass Oil, a distributor of Chevron products, made the business decision to become a Chevron 1st Source Lubricant Marketer. One of the requirements is to have a CRM solution in place, because that’s really the only way participating distributors can provide the detailed reporting that Chevron requires. Rick Reese, Kellerstrass Oil’s Senior Vice President, started looking into finding the right solution that would not only be the right fit for Kellerstrass, but also fulfill the requirements set forth by Chevron and the 1st Source program.
They evaluated several CRM solutions including Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics CRM. What helped seal the Dynamics CRM deal is the turn-key solution that Ledgeview Partners had developed specifically for Oil & Gas Distributors.
How has it worked out? Well, since we wrote up a case (success) story on it, you can do the math.
Chane Kellerstrass, Director of Business Development, puts it in perspective, “The closing ratio in our industry is, on average, a little under 20%. Since implementing Ledgeview’s CRM, we’re tracking double that. In fact, we’re close to 50%.”
Now that is seriously impressive. But wait! It gets even better. Kellerstrass adds, “CRM’s helped our company as a whole, contributing to sustained year over year growth of about 8 to 10% each year.”
Read the full case study to learn more about the process they went through and more of the benefits that Kellerstrass Oil is achieving with Ledgeview’s CRM for Oil & Gas product, powered by Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

Where to Find 100 References for Microsoft Dynamics GP
I am always a little skeptical about the value of asking for references.
I know that the vendor I am evaluating is going to cherry-pick their best clients, the ones they know had a great experience and will say nice things about them. Those other clients, the ones who might not give glowing reviews, are hidden in a dark closet.
But if you are evaluating a major purchase, such as new accounting software, you want to hear it all. The good, the bad and the ugly.
If you are evaluating Microsoft Dynamics GP accounting software, the best way to get the truth is to ask people who are already using the software. Where can you find them? User groups.
There are national events such as Amplify and GPUG Summit that have thousands of attendees.
But what if you want to evaluate not only the product, but also the local Dynamics GP partner you will be working with? A partner that holds their own user group and gives you access to their clients has nothing to hide.
If you are in the New England area you can attend CAL Connect2016 on May 19, 2016 in Bristol, Connecticut hosted by CAL Business Solutions. At this event you can talk to more than 100 current Dynamics GP users. Each of them can be a reference.
Also you can meet the entire CAL Business Solutions team. Not just the salesperson who comes to your office to do the demo, but everyone you will be interacting with during your project – from support to admin.
Don’t let the term “existing customer event” or “user group” mislead you – these events are open to you as a prospective user too. In fact, we encourage all the “future clients” we know to attend CAL Connect2016.
At a past CAL Connect event we had in attendance five local Connecticut companies that were still in the accounting software selection process. They were evaluating both Microsoft Dynamics and CAL Business Solutions. All five of those companies are now CAL Business Solutions clients (using Microsoft Dynamics GP of course). This event helped them answer the question, “Why should I choose CAL Business Solutions as my Microsoft Dynamics GP Partner?”
If you are a Connecticut company evaluating an ERP/accounting software upgrade now, or even in the distant future, I invite you to attend CAL Connect2016.
CAL Connect2016 Details/Registration
So my insider tip for you is, don’t rely on just a few references hand chosen by a vendor. Go to where ALL the users are.
